UNESCO listed Tournai Cathedral, with its five bell towers, Romanesque nave and transept and Gothic chancel, is a gem of medieval architecture.

Its wide nave is unique in Belgium. It consists of four horizontal levels and nine bays where columns topped by differently decorated capitals form a whole made of several hundreds of pieces.

The rood screen by Corneille de Vriendt is a Renaissance masterpiece and can be found in the middle of the transept. In the southern part of the transept you can see some extraordinary stained-glass windows.

The middle of the Gothic chancel (58m long and 36m high) is dominated by the marble altar originating from St. Martin's abbey in Tournai.
